The Food Cooperative at Rosie's Place (a Boston-based organization that helps poor and homeless women) pools together money from individuals and families to buy nutritious, high-quality food in bulk from wholesalers. This combined buying power results in savings of 30-50% on food, compared to supermarket prices. Each member of the Food Cooperative helps out with a task on the day the food is delivered. There is also a Board of Directors comprised of members.
